Bridging the Bar is an organisation that works to increase diversity at the bar. They support students who, owing to their disability, ethnic background, socio-economic background, education or sexuality, belong to groups which are statistically underrepresented in the profession. There are a number of programmes that students can access through Bridging the Bar, including the recently announced paid internship with the Supreme Court. The internship is only open to students who have accepted an offer for a Bar Practice Course and the closing date for applications is 6pm, 10 July 2021. To check if you are eligible, register on their website and for more information on their programmes, including the internship, visit the Bridging the Bar website.
